Lesson Options
Students have the option of taking one 30-minute lesson a week
at $35/lesson or one 60-minute lesson a week at $55/lesson.
A portion of the first lesson will be spent discussing the
student's goals as a singer. This better enables Elizabeth to
individualize future lessons. Based on this conversation, she
creates a folder for the student that will continue to be added to
at each consecutive lesson. This folder will include various
vocal exercises, working repertoire (the music that has been or
is being learned), information on performance opportunities,
and music theory notes. During a portion of this first lesson,
Elizabeth has the student sing some short, simple melodic lines
at various starting pitches to help her get a better sense of the
student's voice.
Thereafter, each lesson will consist of approximately a third of
the time being dedicated to physical and vocal warm-up and
two thirds to singing music from the repertoire. Sight-reading
and theory tutorials can be built into lessons based on the
individual student's desire.
Recitals
Twice yearly, members of the Elizabeth Ray Voice Studio take
part in a recital. Students work with Elizabeth to select and
master two pieces of music of varying genres and/or languages.
These performances are a great way for students to show off
the culmination of their work and to share their joy of singing.
Recitals are open to the public, and friends and family are
encouraged to come!
Lesson Recordings
Elizabeth records lessons for her students at no additional cost.
Recorded lessons are sent to a private e-mail account in MP3
format so that students and parents can listen and practice from
their home computers.
